Fed-up Gaydamak gives Al Fahim week to close Portsmouth deal

Sacha Gaydamak has given Sulaiman Al Fahim a week to complete his takeover of Portsmouth.
The Sunday Mirror says Gaydamak has become so exasperated by negotiations with Fahim that he has set a seven-day deadline for the deal to be completed. Gaydamak has told friends he would have walked away from the Fahim deal weeks ago if he had an alternative.
A heated exchange of words took place between Gaydamak and Fahim last Thursday. Gaydamak questioned Fahim's motives for buying the club.
A source close to the takeover said: "Alexandre has shown incredible patience to see this through because there appears to be no alternative. But it's reached farcical proportions.
"It seems Fahim does not have the money to close the deal and is seeking alternative ways to finance the buy-out. He has repeatedly promised to come up with the money."
A spokesman for Fahim said: "The deal is very much on track and we are looking to complete as soon as possible.
"Sulaiman Al Fahim has a long term vision for the club and looks forward to the next stage of the process. Once the ownership has been transferred he will be in a position to support Portsmouth on its way to financial solidity and success."
