Hull City are reportedly interested in signing Portsmouth’s out-of-favour striker David Nugent, according to the News of the World. The 24-year-old looks set to leave Fratton Park this summer, after having been sent home early from the club’s pre-season tour for brawling with team-mate Marc Wilson. The striker has already been linked with a move to several other Premier League clubs, with both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stoke City reportedly interested, and Hull now appear to have joined the race for his signature. The striker is expected to cost around £4 million and chief executive Peter Storrie admitted there had been interest in Nugent.“We have players we want to sell and no one has to be a brain surgeon to work out who they are,” he said.“We've had enquiries for David.”Phil Brown’s Tigers have endured a frustrating summer so far in the transfer market, after losing out on players such as Fraizer Campbell and Habib Beye. However, they have had more joy recently with Seyi Olofinjana arriving from Stoke and Jozy Altidore joining on loan.
